Is solar pool heating dependable?
Aquatherm Industries systems have been operating worldwide for over 30 years heating pools, hot tubs, spas, municipal and commercial pools, hotels and resort clubs, making swimming seasons longer, more comfortable and environmentally friendly. As long as the sun keeps shining, you can depend on solar.
How does the cost of Ecolite compare with other pool heating options?
While installation costs are comparable to conventional fossil fuel heaters, there are zero operating costs, so an Ecolite system will pay for itself in as little as two years. After that, you’ll be collecting dividends year after year as you heat your pool with the sun’s endless supply of free energy.
Is a solar pool heater simple to operate?
Using your exising pool pump, water is circulated through the many small passages of the solar collector, where it is warmed by the sun. This warm water then flows directly back to your pool through the regular pool plumbing. Ecolite Solar Pool Heaters are designed to work with your existing filtration equipment as well as the latest in pool automation technology.
What if I already have a gas heater or heat pump?
An Ecolite Solar Pool Heater can also work alongside your existing conventional heater. A "hybrid pool heating system" uses solar as the primary source of heat, and any existing gas or electric heater as a backup if necessary. With a hybrid pool heating system, you truly get the best of both worlds.
Do the collectors have to face south and be mounted on my roof?
Not necessarily. Though Ecolite collectors are generally roof mounted, they can be installed anywhere, as long as they will receive sunlight a good portion of the day. Depending on the angle of the mounting surface, east and west facing systems canfunction equally as well.
